The Ritz-Carlton in Rancho Mirage needed professionally designed menus for their main restaurant, State Fare, as well as for all the amenities in the hotel, to capture their brand and the essence of the desert location.

State Fare is where all the guests flock for meals and gatherings throughout the day into the night. This requires multiple menus: Breakfast, Breakfast Buffet (for weekends), Lunch, Dinner, Dessert, and Bar. Holiday Dinner menus are also included and consist of Valentines Day, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve.

The ambience of State Fare is casual, charming, yet classy. The name is a play on words for State Fair. While a State Fair has a very playful image, the design style of the menu designs were toned down so that the elegance was still portrayed.

The design aesthetics for each menu had to reflect their respective time of day and vibe. The menus not only catered to the tone of the desert resort, but were also designed in mind for the guests’ user experience while dining - either outside on the veranda, inside dining room or by the bar.

The menu designs for In-Room Dining and the Breakfast Door-Hanger carried the global branding of Ritz-Carlton, using its beautiful soft shade of blue and a very clean aesthetic; whereas the Air Pool and Spa menus were designed for their unique ambience and needs.

The Holiday menu designs were each tailored to their holiday theme, and changed every year, which allowed opportunity for more creativity!
